About Cooking a Steak with Duck Fat…

Searing a steak with duck fat is the way to go. DUCKCHAR Duck Fat helps to build that perfect crust on the outside of the steak and it enhances the natural steak flavor. Every delicious bite of your favorite cut of steak is even richer when it’s cooked duck fat. Plus, duck fat is a healthier option than butter. Butter is made up primarily of unhealthy saturated fat. Ingredients

DUCKCHAR Duck Fat
NY Strip Steak
Kosher salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)

Cooking Directions

Step 1 - Season steak with Kosher salt and pepper. For best results, allow steak to reach room temperature if you have the time.

Step 2 - In large cast iron skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of duck fat over high heat.

Step 3 - Sear steak. Flip every 30 seconds to build a nice crust on the outside. For a medium rare finish, continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 130 degrees F.

Step 4 - Allow duck fat seared steak to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
