Thawing Instructions

DUCKCHAR ships and arrives frozen. So, you'll have to engage in the smallest (emphasis on smallest) amount of planning before your big meal.

 

Thawing in the fridge

Thawing DUCKCHAR Moulard Duck Breast in your refrigerator is the best and easiest way. Just throw frozen DUCKCHAR in your fridge, leave it there overnight, and it will thaw by the next day. Thawing in the fridge keeps the meat cold and at a safe temperature. Be sure to eat DUCKCHAR within 3 days of thawing.


Thawing in the sink

Forgot to throw DUCKCHAR Moulard Duck Breast in the fridge last night? No worries, you can thaw DUCKCHAR in the sink or in a bowl full of cold water. Place the duck (while still in the vacuum seal packaging) in the sink or bowl with enough cold water to completely cover it. It is very important to keep the water temp below 40 F degrees so be vigilant about changing out the water to make sure it stays within a safe temperature range.
