Cooking bacon: skillet versus oven

It's an age old debate: what's the best way to cook bacon. For us, we consider the number of mouths we need to feed. If it's more than 2 people, we are using the oven. There just isn't enough space in a skillet and we are too impatient to cook duck bacon in batches. You will feel the same way once the aroma of crispy duck bacon begins to permeate through the walls of your home.

How to cook bacon in oven

Step 1 - Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and evenly space out duck bacon on it. Make the bacon pieces are not touching.

Step 2 - Cook bacon until it crispy and golden (15 20 min). Once it done, remove from heat and transfer to paper towel lined trey. Briefly drain grease and serve immediately.

How to cook bacon in skillet

Step 1 - Lay bacon slices in a cold pan.

Step 2 - Cook the bacon on low heat. Flip duck bacon often with tongs to get an even cook.

Step 6 - Cook duck bacon to desired doneness. We like it extra crispy. Lay on paper towel lined baking sheet to briefly drain grease. Serve and enjoy immediately.
